Grateful: The Small and Simple Things
Three things just happened to remind me once again how blessed I am to live in such a good and beautiful community.
1.) I drove over to crossfit (Chase would be mad I didn't walk 😜)
I thought I would be alone but there was a fellow cross fitter there (Am I a cross fitter? I don't really consider myself a full on cross fitter!) and we jammed out to Metallica, Rage Against the Machine and Pearl Jam while we were working out. I don't know him well but he is a super cool guy and it was fun to reminisce about our favorite music back in the good ol days of high school. His playlist brought a smile to my face. I was reminded how much I like fun people like Adam.
2.) I walked over to Days after my workout and Jim bagged my groceries. Jim is the neighborhood friend everyone loves at Days Market. He has worked there almost his whole life, is in his 50's and also has Down syndrome. He told me all about how he is going to have surgery on his foot and has to rest for two weeks. He kept repeating "Yep. Two weeks. Peace and quiet for two weeks!" He is a hard worker and seemed very excited for some peace and quiet away from Days Market 😂 He also said "Peace and quiet is a blessing." Jim is so right! I was reminded how much I like good people like Jim.
3.) I can honestly say I never take the view of the mountains we have from our home for granted. I looked out my windows once again today, the sun was shining and the mountains looked gorgeous as always.
It really is the small and simple things that bring the joy and beauty in life into focus.
