Family Vacation Part 1: Miami Day 1
We woke up around 3:30 am to make our early flight to Miami. It was freezing cold and snowing/raining the day we left. The kids were champs flying. Beckham was excited for his first flight EVER! We had a 4 hour layover in Minneapolis and it took us FOREVER to get to Miami.
One cute story I always want to remember happened when we were boarding our plane in Minneapolis. The flight attendants said hello to Brielle and Beckham as we walked inside the plane. All my kids did was look at them and say hello back. They said " I love it when kids look at you and talk to you! Its rare these days." Then they said " Here, you guys get some Oreos because you talked to us!" Ha ha! The kids were excited and it was a proud parent moment for Chase and I. I am proud of our kids for how respectful and social they are. In a world where kids have their faces glued to a screen, its nice to know my children can look people in the eye and speak to them.
The picture of Beckham above is actually on our flight home from vacation. The one of Brielle is our first leg of the flight heading to Miami. They loved their electronics, snacks and drinks on the plane too!
We took a shuttle to downtown Miami where our hotel was. The minute we walked outside Beckham said " I can't breathe!" Poor guy had never been in humidity before 😂
I booked the Holiday Inn because it was right across the street from our cruise port! Location was fabulous, hotel was so-so.
We were right across the street from Bayside Market and explored that night.
I was in love with the beautiful banyan tree that was over 200 years old. This one came all the way from India! Brielle was not in the mood to smile for this picture.
We found the most DELICIOUS ice cream truck right across the street from our hotel. It was made fresh right there in Miami and has so many amazing flavors. I went for the passion fruit, Buddy of course got fresh Mango and Brielle stuck with her favorite, Cookies and Cream. We went both nights we stayed at the hotel!
Our night view of downtown :)
