Morgan County Marathon
Chase turned 40 and decided it was about time he get off his lazy butt and run a marathon. Anyone who knows Chase knows I am joking about the lazy part 😂 He is the furthest thing from lazy and wanted a new goal. I was so proud of him for training properly and taking such great care of his body before and after the race. He finished nice and easy. His goal was 5 hours and I think he ran it at around 4:30.
It was a very easy race for the kids and I to cheer him on at it. It was open course and a very small number of people racing. The kids loved running along with him throughout certain parts of the race.
Chase has changed his intense/competitive ways since we were first married. It is the running joke of the family that no one could speak to Chase after a triathlon because he was amped up when he finished and needed "space" 😂. Now he has simmered down and has a smile on his face the whole time!
We were there at the finish line at the rodeo grounds to celebrate his victory. Nila and Chuck were also there to see him.
Running 26.2 miles is a huge deal and we were all so proud of him! It makes me so happy our kids get to see how strong and dedicated their father is. I hope they will always carry these memories with them and remember the importance of keeping your body healthy and strong. And that you can accomplish any goal you set your mind to.
Also, Morgan County is absolutely stunning. Not a bad venue for a marathon!
Did I mention this marathon was part of his training for the Iron Man in St. George next year? He is crazy! But I know he will finish that just as solid as he did the marathon.
