Fall Happenings

I absolutely love decorating our front porch for fall! An inviting front porch is something that makes my heart happy.

I usually take two pumpkins trips in October. One to pick out my pumpkins to set out for fall fun and another for the kids and I to pick our Halloween pumpkins to paint.

We always go to the house on Canyon Rd not far from us. This cute family always has the best pumpkins to choose from and their yard is beautiful with all the pumpkins scattered everywhere.

We also venture up to the Fall Harvest at Sundance each year. It was a cloudy and colorful fall day.

This year our friends The Vaughn's had a booth to sell their syrup, Wasatch Gold. Brielle was happy to see her best friend and buy some syrup from him. Both kids went with Lucas while we passed out samples to people. I ran into a few friends, checked out the booths and then we headed home.

Fall up at Sundance is always magical with all the colors and clouds.

The kids had their Fund Run to raise money for their classrooms. Mme Cottle got this picture of Brielle for me.

I was teaching third grade this day so I was able to cheer on buddy while he ran!

Brielle and Lucas enjoying ice cream on the deck after school. Im always grateful both my kids have good friends.

Beckham went with his buddy Daniel to Batman day at Barnes and Noble one Sat. They have been buddies since 1st grade!

Beckham signed our family up to attend a night at Provo City Library to meet two authors, Kwame Alexander and Sofiya Pasternack. Both authors spoke to the kids and each child got one of their books for FREE! Beckham had been looking forward to this for a few weeks!

Im so happy he took initiative to get us tickets and it always amazes me how mature my kids are. I forget that they are only 8 and 10 sometimes.

It was great for Brielle to have another female role model to hear from. Brielle loves to write and has the biggest imagination. This author is from Draper, UT so that was cool too!

Kwame was very inspiring and passionate! He shared such great messages with the kids about pursuing your dreams, working hard and making things happen for yourself in life.

Both kids were excited to get their books signed and are in the process of reading them now. I have always loved books and the library. My mom always read to me everyday when I was little and we would often take weekly trips to the library. It makes me happy I can share this love of reading and the library with my own kids. I love how much they love it too.

We were able to catch Stoney Bear's last soccer game of the season. He was so excited his cousins were there to watch him play! He is the cutest little soccer player.

Beckham has loved flag football so far this year. It is his second year and he has found his niche as playing snapper. He is really good at it!

Sadly, sickness has hit our house and it hit Beckham hard this week. He came home sick with a fever on Mon. It got pretty high on Tue and it worried me so much he would go into one of his high fever episodes for days on end. Luckily, after lots of praying, the high fever came down and we were able to keep it controlled with Motrin. His fevers can get as high as 105-106. So when it hit 103.8 I was getting worried. Im so grateful it came down! Today he is finally fever free and we are hoping he can go to school tomorrow.
