Thanksgiving

We had the best Thanksgiving this year. Chase was originally supposed to work Life Flight, but one of his co-worker who does not celebrate Thanksgiving switched shifts with him. It always makes the holiday extra special just when Chase gets to be home with us!

I successfully made my very first full Thanksgiving meal for our family. Usually we are just bringing a side somewhere or others are bringing sides to share with us. This year it was just our family for dinner in our home. Nila was also able to come eat with us after she got off work. I prepped and cooked about 4 days leading up to Thanksgiving. Once the day arrived all I had to do was throw things in the oven and got to enjoy the day! We had turkey, sweet potatoes, stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce and rolls. I also let everyone pick their own pies/dessert (A tradition Chase was used to growing up from Chuck).

We went to a movie with the kids, came home and relaxed, then it was time to eat, then Devan and Taylor came over with their kids for dessert. It was a snowy, cozy day. Before we ate our dinner Chase told stories of what he was thankful for and we held hands to bless the food. Dobe even got some Thanksgiving turkey in his food bowl. After dessert Devan, Chase and Nila all took the kids night sledding. It was freezing but they all had a blast. I had bought new sleds for the kids for Christmas but decided to bust them out early. They were super excited and it really was the perfect Thanksgiving. I have so much to be grateful for every single day. I love the holidays so much and am so happy that the Christmas season is now upon us!
