Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve started off with Ma-Ma coming by to give the kids their presents in the morning. She spoiled them this year with books, movie gift cards, food gift cards and calendars! They sure love their Ma-Ma and she loves them.

The kids were excited for the last day of our advent calendar and had a hot chocolate surprise waiting for them under the tree. Their snowmen melt in the hot chocolate and reveal marshmallows and sprinkles inside.

I finished making cookies for Santa and then we decided to take Front Runner up to Salt Lake. We rode up top and had a fun adventure! I think the kids are a little burned out of the lights at Temple Square since we go every single year. So we walked through pretty quick and decided we were super hungry for dinner! Everywhere around Temple Square was a 3 hour wait so we took Trax to this hole in the wall Chinese restaurant we passed by the Front Runner station. We felt like we were in the movie "A Christmas Story" with the Chinese waiters and surroundings. The place actually turned out to be pretty busy after we got a table and our food was delicious!
Beckham was so hungry he said he would eat anything. He was elated when his potstickers and shrimp fried rice was placed before him. Brielle loved her spare ribs and halfway through our meal we had to ask for our drinks again. But the waiters were so kind and we felt cozy inside while the rain poured down.

We finished dinner and ran through the rain a few blocks to make it to our train in time. We only had 5 min to spare before it left and didn't want to wait in the rain for another train. We made it! Brielle was so tired she fell asleep on the way home.

As we were driving home we passed by Jan and Duane's house and saw everyone's cars there. We decided to stop and say hello. Chase loves the Chase family like his own and they have always been so kind and welcoming to me and the kids. We had fun visiting with The Chase's, Beckham stood up in front of everyone and told a Christmas riddle and we got to snuggle puppies!

We made it home and opened Christmas PJ's. When Beckham opened his he said " Oh wow. Matching Christmas pajamas." He was very underwhelmed at first 😂 but once they tried them on the kids were both pleasantly surprised with how comfy and warm they were! We also opened Pop-Pop and Grandma D's present. They made us a Christmas Eve Basket with all sorts of fun stuff. We took a selfie with the Christmas glasses to send to them and then said good night! It was such a perfect day and evening. I think the restaurant we found, running through the rain to catch our train and being at The Chase's home were my favorite parts. It was a spontaneous Christmas Eve and we loved it!
