Sickness and Gingerbread Houses

Beckham got pretty sick the Sunday before last. It was the day after Christmas Around the World. He woke up not feeling well and had a temp of 100.4. The way his immune system seems to work, I knew he was on his way to a higher fever. He ended up missing the entire week of school with a fever every single day. Luckily it did not turn out to be on of his PFAPA episodes, the Motrin helped a lot and his fever never went over 102.5 (which is low for him). But he was in misery and super bored by the end of the week. By Friday he was  turning the corner in his sickness and he asked if I could find him a Gingerbread House kit. Luckily, Trader Joe's still had them and I snagged one for him.

I sure hate when my babies are sick and always wish I could take their fever from them. Chase even stayed home with him for 2 of the days since I had to substitute teach those days. It was weird to be the one going to work and leaving Beckham home with dad! But it was good bonding time for them and I got to snuggle him the rest of the week while Chase was at work. Im proud of him and how positive he always stays, even when he is sick. His Gingerbread House turned out great!
